SKINS

In order to win the “skin” you must either:

  • Take 2 or more points with hammer, OR
  • Take 1 or more point(s) without hammer

If neither of these occur, it is a carry over and that money will be awarded to the team that wins the skin in the next end

The hammer changes either when the team with hammer wins a skin or there is a carry-over

The winner of the coin toss chooses who has the hammer in the first end

The free guard zone rule is in effect

The 2014 event will featured escalating skins (like you see on TV) so the later ends of the game will be worth more than the early ends. Each game will be worth a total of 25 skins, and the money per skin will increase as teams progress through the rounds.

The 25 skins per game will be allocated through the eight ends as follows: 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 6

If there is a carry over after the eighth end, a draw to the button with sweeping will determine who gets the last skin; the opposition may not sweep.

Please note the Bonspiel details are being finalized as the date approaches so some of the rules may be subject to change.

 

BONSPIEL

Spares may be used if they are not already participants of the bonspiel

Spares must play lead or second

There will be no practice time allotted
