Let there be Curling

To all our members looking to work out the summer kinks: Thursday, September 6 is our Members-Only Open House. Come out to the Club from 6:30-9:00 pm and be among the first to try the ice. The Last Draw Lounge will be open if you want to enjoy a drink after your first throws of the season.

For those interested in obtaining a locker for the 2012-13 season, registration will be in the Lower Lounge starting at 6:30 pm. Due to the limited number of lockers, they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and you must share with another member.

Any members looking to get some practice time in before their games start, the Open Ice Schedule has been updated in lead up to the kick-off of league play on September 20. Come on out and work off the rust before everything is on the line.

Ready, Set, Curl - Tips for your Speed of Play

With the new season knocking at our door, we wanted to offer some tips for one of the biggest challenges for league play: game speed. Most leagues play games in two hour time slots. Strategy is often determined by expecting to play eight ends, and we want to ensure we get them all in before our time runs out. Listed below are some great tips to save time and keep the game moving.

Our 100th Season is Just Around the Corner

It is August and we are fast approaching the VCC's 100th curling season.  We have an exciting year planned as we enter our second year in our new home at the Hillcrest Centre.

We urge you all to browse through our Calendar of Events for the 2012-13 season to see what we have in store.  Our Leagues, Clinics, Bonspiels, and even a Provincial Championship will be keeping us busy right through to April 2013!

If you are interested in joining a league, please head over to our League Page and contact any of the respective league reps about availability.  If you are looking to give our sport a try we will be featuring Public Open Houses and Basic Skills Clinics in lead up to the start of our regular season.
