Welcome Back!

A message from VCC Club President, Jan Bos...

Welcome back!

Today marks our first day back from the league hiatus, and we are looking forward to another month and a half of curling at the Vancouver Curling Club.

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide the membership with an update on: * the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, * our Team Canada Raffle, and * a difficult decision recently made by the board regarding the Barry Naimark Charity Skins Bonspiel.

Congratulations to Team Canada

As the Olympic Games come to a close, the VCC would like to congratulate Team Martin and Team Bernard on their Gold and Silver medals. We were pleased to work with the CCA to help provide a home for Team Canada and their families during the 2010 Winter Games... and we are looking forward to cheering on Team Armstrong at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

The VCC and the 2010 Winter Games

The start of the 2010 Winter Games is just under one month away, and the Vancouver Curling Club has recently finalized a couple of outstanding agreements so the plans to welcome the world to the VCC and provide unique opportunities for our members to experience world-class curling are now available.

Please click here to learn more about the activities planned for the VCC in February 2010. The club will certainly be a buzz with curling action on the ice and on the screens in the lounge, and all of the funds raised will be contributed to the club's Capital Development Fund.

Happy New Year

Now that the new year is upon us, the staff and board at the VCC wish to extend Happy New Year wishes to all of our members and our friends.

The club is now open again after our holiday break, and we have a full month of curling ahead of us before our league hiatus begins on February 8th.

Be sure to check back here soon and to read the upcoming issue of “The Backline” for complete details on the club’s plans during the league hiatus from February 8th to March 2nd. We have some very interesting activities in the works for both on and off the ice.

Happy New Year!
