Pac Rim Cup & Canadian Gay Championships to Rock the VCC

2012 Pac Rim Cup and CGCC

The VCC is proud to host the 2012 HSBC Canadian Gay Curling Championship (CGCC) and the always-popular Pac Rim Cup on February 3-5.

The Club will be rocking on and off the ice all weekend long as 16 teams compete for the right to be crowned the national CGCC champion, including the VCC's own Team Thompson, Team Schneider and Team Kipp. Meanwhile, 32 teams will share the ice as they battle for bragging rights for the Pac Rim Cup. In all, nearly 200 curlers will be participating in this year's combined events.

Hosted the by the VCC's Pacific Rim Curling League (PRCL), both events will feature highly competitive games and great curling as many of the Club's skilled members belong to the PRCL, an all-inclusive league open to gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered and GLBT-friendly straight curlers of all skill levels.

This year’s theme is “Gold and Silver” in honour of the Olympic and Paralympic medals won by Canada’s men’s, women’s and wheelchair curling teams in the very building that now houses the VCC. So come out and watch the games from 11am to midnight on Friday, 8am to midnight on Saturday, with the Finals at 3:45pm on Sunday afternoon. Complete event information is available by clicking here.
