Team Faa has a Great Run at Provincial Club Finals

After winning the Lower Mainland division of the Dominion BC Club Challenge, Team Faa spent their Easter weekend challenging teams from across the province and the western United States.

Competing at the Pacific International Cup / BC Dominion Club Challenge Provincial Finals, Team Faa finished in a four-way tie for second following round-robin play. After winning their two tie-breaker games in convincing fashion, Team Faa moved onto the medal round. Unfortunately, it was there that the team's spectacular run came to a grinding halt on the Sunday morning.

In their semi-final game, Team Faa came up against a Washington team that made every single shot, and then some. So it was onto the bronze-medal game for the team, where they met up with Golden Ears for a second time in the bonspiel. Team Faa managed to score a three to take a 4-3 lead after five ends. But a badly-executed sixth end followed and Golden Ears scored four to be up 7-4.

Team Faa fought gamely in the seventh end and was a whisker-thin rub away from scoring three; however, only a two went up on the board and a steal was needed in the 8th to force an extra end. On Team Faa's final rock, they managed to hold on to a biter at the back of the house. So Golden Ears needed to draw for the win, and they found the button for a 8-6 defeat of Team Faa.

Congratulations to skip Chris Faa, third Jan Bos, second Sean Ramsay and lead Allen Ho for
representing the VCC so well and for finishing 3rd in the BC Dominion Club Challenge, and 4th in the Pacific International Cup. Please click here to view complete event results.
